Life is Peachy Photography
A new website and studio admin for a family and newborn photographer near Huntly: natural photographs, honest prices, and a back office that takes a booking from the first enquiry to the signed contract, the invoice and the gallery.
The Photographer
Cheryl Bremner is Life is Peachy Photography. She lives at Glass, near Huntly, and photographs families and newborns across Aberdeenshire and Moray: outdoors at a favourite beach or wood, or at home, with no awkward posing. Huntly, Dufftown and Keith are on her doorstep, but she travels.
She is a mother of two herself, published in This Detailed Life magazine, a charter member of the Lifestyle Photographers group, and fully insured.
The Challenge
A photographer lives or dies by the pictures, so the site had to show them beautifully and still load quickly on a phone in a field. Behind the scenes, Cheryl was handling enquiries, bookings, contracts and invoices by hand. She wanted one place for all of it, from the first message to the gallery going out.
- Show the work: big photographs, fast, on any phone
- Explain how a session works and what it costs, without a hard sell
- Take the £50 session fee at booking and let families choose a package after they have seen their gallery
- Contracts, quotes and invoices handled online rather than on paper
- Mini-session days with slots people can book themselves
- Let Cheryl update the pages, portfolio, blog and prices herself
The Solution
I designed and built the site from scratch, in cream and peach with Cormorant Garamond for the headings and Jost for the text, and behind it a studio admin built around the way Cheryl works.
- A homepage slideshow of her photographs, with the words revealing as you scroll
- Pages for family sessions and in-home newborn sessions, with what to expect and what to wear
- A pricing page with her three packages, Beag, Beinn and Mhor, named after the hills around her: a £50 session fee to book, then the package chosen after viewing the gallery, with shop credit towards prints
- A portfolio of 63 photographs, filtered by families, children, newborn and black and white
- Nine client reviews, a blog, gift vouchers, and an enquiry form that asks the right questions: which session, when and where
- The studio admin: enquiries, a calendar, bookings with confirmation emails, client records, quotes and invoices with online payment, contracts emailed and signed online, and mini-session days with bookable slots
- The website edited from the same admin: pages, portfolio, blog, photo library, offers and news, and the price list
- Visitor statistics built in, with no cookies, so there is no cookie banner
- Every picture in WebP with a soft placeholder while it loads, the fonts hosted on her own site, and structured data describing the business, Cheryl and each blog post
The outcome
Families see the photographs first and the prices second, and booking is a form and a £50 fee rather than a back-and-forth. Cheryl runs the whole job from one screen: who has enquired, who has booked, who has signed, who has paid and whose gallery is ready.
The site went live in October 2026.
